This was a video with me and Shelby lip-syncing to Elton John's "Don't go breaking my heart".
In this task we had to sing in order to properly sync up the lip-syncing to the vocals on the track. We also had to keep our actions fairly the same throughout the takes in order to seamlessly transition and keep continuity e.g. reaching with the same hand in each shot.
We used four different takes using four different shots. Shot one was an ordinary straight on long shot. Shot two was a dolly shot of me singing the song. Shot three was a dolly shot of Shelby singing the song. Shot four was a dolly shot focusing on both of us using a variety of different techniques e.g. a tracking shot.
Using multiple takes allowed us for a more interesting video as we could use a variety of different shots. The multiple footage also allowed for us to cover up any mistakes with the other footage.
When editing we used a slightly different technique than we had used before instead of having the footage all in one layer we used multiple layers which was easier to match up the lip-syncing.
As this was our first attempt it wasn't the best but it allowed us to learn the basic steps when filming and editing lip-syncing which we will be able to transfer over to our final music video.
